“Halo Effect”
What is the Halo Effect?
The tendency for one trait to color the way a person’s other, unrelated traits are viewed.
(e.g. A person may be perceived as smarter, or more successful, merely because they are physically attractive.)

Business Relevance
This effect is often seen in career advancement.
Difficulty
Recognizing this behavior internally will help you improve your ability to judge character and examine individual traits instead of “gut” instincts.
Everyday Application
Focus on your strong suits and develop a known skill to help build your overall public esteem.
“She’s a great sales person so she should clearly be managing the team!”
