What is Argument from Ignorance?
Assuming something is true because it’s not proven false.
Business Application
If you can try to make evidence, do your research and take the time to validate an idea. If you cannot make evidence, pursue with extreme caution unless you have tons of time and money to burn. Creating a minimum viable product or testing market acceptance with pre-launch marketing can help you assess the validity of your idea.
Example
I have a great business idea that no one thought of yet. There must be a market for my idea.
Why This is a Fallacy
Even though there is no proof that people will pay money for a new product or service, far too many entrepreneurs assume that there must be a market.
