What is Enthymeme?
Arriving at a conclusion without an established or spoken premise.
Business Application
If a premise is not established before a conclusion, you should expose and examine its validity before jumping to a conclusion. You may find that the unspoken premise is based on faulty logic.
Example 1
I’m getting a nice promotion next week. That means I’ll be making the big bucks!
Why This is a Fallacy
Promotions mean more work or different work and don’t always guarantee more money.
Example 2
You’re company is growing rapidly, you should open another location.
Why This is a Fallacy
Opening another location assumes that your success is not dependent on its region.
