What is Argument by Assertion?
Wearing a perception down through repetition. Reinforcing a claim over and over to establish it as truth.
Business Application
Social constructs do not always imply smart decisions. Innovation, quality, and practicality requires independent thought and independent thought requires you to question everything.
Example
“We’re number one! We’re number one! We’re number one!”
Why This is a Fallacy
Corporate indoctrination leverages assertion to create a more loyal employee base. When a “tribe” of employees are united under a brand, negative perceptions are more easily dismissed and positive ones are more easily accepted.
